Saguaro cactus, a protected plant common to a narrow set of elevations in the Sonoran desert, is illuminated here by a classic forked cloud-to-ground discharge.

 

A brilliant rainbow adds  the final touch to the Superstition mountains bathed in the golden light of a summer evening.

An eerie pink hue adorns low-level clouds as lightning spikes the horizon ahead of an  approaching monsoon storm north of Florence Arizona.

 

 

   A severe monsoonal thunderstorm is seen here      with it's overshooting top south of Payson AZ.

A fiery sunset compliments this sillouette of a saguaro cactus  near Apache Junction Arizona. Lenticular shaped altostratus clouds and cirrus add bands of  rosey red to a sky over Sunset Crater Volcano Nat'l Monument northeast of Flagstaff Arizona.
